Hi Folks, well thats crimbo almost over, Pauline Fowler died (apparently) and I was promised a murder in corry but it never happened, the veggie pasta slipped down very nicely in the Melville house.
Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone who's helped me out this year in my job as homing co-ordinator, all the folks I've sent on home checks and dog assessments and all our hard working foster homes, big thanks also to all the folks who've transported dogs around the country for GAL, special thanks to John Murray who stopped short his Christmas Eve celebrations yesterday to go pick up an 18 month old female Greyhound who was going to be killed last night at Thornton race track, she's safe and well now (no name yet!)...
Special thoughts this year to the 60 homeless dogs currently on GAL's books, lets hope next Christmas they will ALL celebrate the festive season in safe permanent homes...
Merry Christmas to everyone and you wonderful hounds, hope to see you all soon.
Dave...Hope everyone at GAL had a good Christmas. I would like to add my personal thanks to you, Siouxsie and Nikki for finding Mason for me and helping me adjust to life as a greyhound owner. To think this time last year it was just me and my cat! Meeting all the GAL owners has opened up a whole new doggy world to me and I have appreciated their sharing their advice and experiences as I learn more about my new best pal every day. Thanks again, I hope GAL has a great 2007 Marie
I also hope that all at GAL had a happy Christmas. I'm glad another dog has been saved that awful fate - perhaps she should be called Holly or something else festive.
Personally speaking, I think we should be thanking you, and all the others who work so hard for GAL because without you, numerous dogs would never have had the chance at a happy, secure life, we wouldn't have known the joy of having these fantastic dogs in our lives and wouldn't have benefitted from the extended family that meets and chats regularly, both at events and on the forum. So, from Tigger, Millie, Wills, Graeme and I - a huge, heartfelt thanks for all you do.
I would just like to add my thank you. Thank you to Charles for our home visit, to Dave for finding us Tigerlily, to Jane for fostering her so well, to Souixsie for all the advice and to everyone involved in GAL in any way. I love the forum - it's one big happy family - and I love hearing all your news and views. Christmas with two greyhounds was fun, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Watching the pair of them having a run in Mugdock Park and then scoffing their bones was the best Christmas present ever - so thank you all!
A very successful year for GAL and well done to everyone involved with every aspect of GAL, if it was not for everyone out there doing their bit there would not be so many happy owners and dogs. Hears to a even more successful 2008 !!!!!!!! Every ones a . Nora

Hope everyone involved with GAL had a well deserved, fantastic xmas. Thank you for bringing Sally into our home and for all the great advice and support throughout the year.
Well done, Dave and John, for saving another dog from a pts situation in the nick of time - bless her!
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I wish every homeless dog gets a wonderful new home early in 2007 and that GAL has another brilliant fundraising year!
