Hi All, belated Happy New Year to all - sorry I have been away so long.
I am now coming to terms with all that happened to me last year - phew what a dreadful year! I havn't been back to work yet and I am just beginning to feel a bit better but Christmas and my birthday (New Year) were tough without my Mum, I can't believe she has been gone nearly three months. The good news is that we have now moved into our new house - remember the one I chose in July! We finally moved on 17-11-06 and it was such a relief. Of course the weather was appalling and we spent three hours outside our new property with four people and a dog in a very misted up car!
Chad is simply loving his new garden (which is big enough for him to hide from me in) Oh the joys of searching for a dog ....in your dressing gown, behind the trees in the creepy end with just a torch! If you leave the back door open you can bet he beats you to it and straight in with mud up to his eye-balls! The lawn is (after his mad circuit training sessions) a pile of mud and totally ruined! He is having a ball though and boy can he run and he almost laughs with the joy of it all! He seems a happier dog and I am sure it is all the space he now has to go mad in. It hasn't been without its troubles though first the mysterious fishy breath after he hadn't eaten for three days...... he had been eating cat-poo from our sand pile where we are laying slabs and putting up a shed instead of his dinner - nice!!! I now have to go out and do a poo patrol first before I let him out. Then there's the kitchen - he is absolutely terrified of it. I cannot for the life of me find the cause but he will not even go in there to eat unless he has to....Well... he doesn't need to with an endless supply of you know what - down the garden! It is all very strange and he is meant to sleep in the kitchen at night, that part is driving me nuts. Last night I found him panting at 3.30 because he was so hot and shaking with fear. I had to let him into the hall. I am loath to let him sleep in the lounge as he is notorious for his dodgy tummies, probably caused by cat-poo consumption (new cream mat £££).
I am still fairly preoccupied with sorting stuff out (there was all Dad's stuff to sort out too you see as he has moved in with us). He has his own lounge, bathroom and bedroom but the contents of a two bed bungalow wouldn't all fit into there! It is taking an age to sort it all out and to be honest there is alot just stuffed in the attic as I lost patience with Christmas to deal with too. There is heaps of Mum's stuff and it takes alot of energy to go through it all without breaking down. I may not post as often as I would like but I will try to read more now I have the odd few minutes. If you don't hear from me for a while you'll know why but I do miss you all.
Emma, a very big welcome back, it's good to hear from you.
Glad to hear you have finally moved and I can imagine you down the creepy end of the garden with your torch!!!!
As for Christmas and Birthdays - the first ones without Mum are the worst - I speak from experience on that one. She will be watching over you every day so you and your Dad must look forward, secure in the knowledge that you are not alone.
It seems that things are finally looking up for you and I wish you continued good luck for 2007.
I'm glad to see you back with us - even if it will be a tad sporadic for the time being.
More importantly, I'm so glad to hear that you've moved into your new house and that you and your boy are happy with it. I can just imagine Chad having a good old game round the garden.
They do get some funny notions and I dearly hope that Chad overcomes his kitchen phobia. Wills is having a wee funny turn to himself at the moment and doesn't seem to want to come into the house or go into his bed.
All the best for 2007 and we look forward to hearing more from you.
It is lovely to hear from you again Emma, i think it goes without saying that everyone felt so sorry for all your recent traumas and i can only imagine how difficult the festive season has been for you and your Dad.
Hope you get on top of the house move soon and everything falls into place, it sounds like it already feels like home to Chad. With all my heart i hope that this proves to be a good year for you, it is well deserved after all the stress and heartache.
Emma, great to hear from you and so glad that you have all turned a corner in your lives, sadly human memorys are just that bit longer than dogs, and by the sound of Chad he is loving life to the full. Congratulations on moving in to your new home and with with it comes future memories that are to be treasured and remembered, enjoy life as I am sure your mother did and believe she is watching and still with you all in many ways. Hope to hear from you soon and the many adventures that you all go through. Nora

Congratulation on you new home Emma. Things have been very traumatic for you over recent months. With all thats happend and the packing, unpacking and going through your mums things. It all adds up and must be very stressful for you. Remember to take some time for youself.
Glad to hear that Cads settled well into his new home and enjoying (if not ruining) his new garden. The kitchen phobia is a bit strange. I moved 6 months ago and Jenna still wont go into the bathroom. I think she's scared of the glass shower unit... all very strange.
Great to have you back on the forum, Emma! Hope everything continues to go well for you - last year was just dreadful and hope that 2007 is much better all round.
I can imagine Chad leading you a merry dance in the garden, but he sounds like he's having a wonderful time. Hope he gets over his kitchen phobia - could it be that there's something in the kitchen he's frightened of other than the kitchen itself?
Anyway I wish you all the best in your new home and good luck with all the sorting out to do. I know what that is like too - it's not easy!
