I suppose it was inevitable that trainers would start doing things 'above board' initially after the publicity recently. Unfortunately there isn't the resources to cope. So what happens now? Where do the hounds go?
Its tragic. I can understand Kerry greyhounds wanting to rescue the hounds from Ireland as there are such poor standards and few rescues in Ireland. However there are so many hounds needing care in the UK too. Eventually it will lead to even more underhanded ways of getting the dogs out of their hands.
It makes for quite depressing reading. There are times in that article where you feel that they are almost trying to encourage trainers to go back to their previous methods because of the sudden glut. It's a heart-wrenching state of affairs.
